Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Civil Engineering
• Minimum years of experience in highway and roads design projects
• Experience in preparing design drawings, profiles, cross-sections, BOQs, and quantity take-offs
• Ability to prepare technical design reports
• Familiar with AASHTO and relevant local/regional standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform highway project design, sketching and reviewing the developing of the designs.
• Plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Prepare production drawings when required.
• Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
• Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Plan and review the production of engineering investigations or planning work.
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, weighing alternatives and selecting the most cost-effective solution.
•  Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
• Analyze project dimension and scope and prepare or oversee the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
• Attend meetings with clients and authorities and discuss any technical issues and find mutual solutions to keep the project running and on track.
• Coordinate work with Head of Roads and Highway Design and the project manager and guide junior professionals and technical personnel on the design and drafting of preliminary and final plans.
• Be responsible for quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, and checking computations or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
